Summary
When Gwen woke up the morning of August 9th, she checked the humidity index before the temperature.
Now it’s 2 PM and 86F, but the humidity, which matters above all, is 79. Pretty bad.
Mia clearly does not think so, which is why they are now sitting outside of Sylvia’s in Harlem, where Gwen can only longingly stare at the air-conditioned interior. Distantly, Gwen knows Georgia must be much worse than Manhattan. She resolves never to go. She’s not certain she’d be welcomed, though, so maybe that’s its own kind of solution.
