There’s something that happens in those very first moments with a woman, especially one who’s never ever before, when they realize. Greta sees it in Carson’s face, the way her eyes widen and search Greta’s for recognition, an oh, this is it. This is what’s supposed to happen. She feels Carson’s whole body tighten, sees her take the deepest of breaths before diving back in. To Greta – experienced Greta, Greta who thinks of love like a poison, a threat – she is understanding only half of what Carson says with her hands and hips and mouth: this feels good, I want more of this.
The other half, which will take Greta a season of baseball and a personal revelation to understand, is unspoken between them: Carson says this is what love could taste like and Carson says I’ve wanted it for so long.

the girls in the years after the finale, dealing with the inevitable trauma after being stalked and tortured on and off for ten years. starts off at age 26, 3 years post-finale; will probably skip around. probably aria- and spencer-centric; a lot of spoby; absolutely no ezria.
by and large inspired by paramore's "after laughter" and a lot of the titles will come from that album, a lot of the stories loosely inspired off of one or multiple songs. but also there will probably be some titles/inspirations that are not from after laughter.

this remains one of my favorite pll fanfic series of all time, and the proper post-canon, in my heart. always good for that specific blend of shittiness and ups and downs and light breaking through the horizon.

The cloaked figure turns around quite abruptly and drops their cloak, and Imogen sees that it’s a woman she’s been following, albeit kind of a weird one. Her skin is a sallow pale, practically grey, and her hair is stringy and black with a solid streak of white across the top. It’s got a hammer sticking out of it, weirdly. The woman smiles, and it takes up all of her face, her black eyes widening, her teeth a little sharp, her cheeks stretching farther than cheeks should be allowed to go. She looks like a walking nightmare, but she sounds like the softest of lullabies, and Imogen practically feels the breath leave her chest.
