Summary
"Where is it?"
"Oh, it's in um- Chennai? I don't know if I'm pronouncing it right, but it's a three day conference at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences."
Samira Mohan hasn't been to her hometown in fourteen years. She also might have more that coworkerly feelings for Jack Abbot. These are truths, but when they collide in the form of a conference trip to Chennai, she discovers a whole new encyclopedia of facts within herself and it changes her perspective in ways she would have never imagined.

Summary
The rest of the Pitt was grossly overestimating Jack’s willpower, considering he had already confessed to her one and a half years ago.
Did they seriously think he was still holding out?

Summary
Samira has a five-year plan: finish her residency, complete a fellowship, and continue her research into racial disparities in the ER. She wants to become the kind of doctor who wouldn’t miss the warning signs of a heart attack in a man like her father.
Samira and Jack have been seeing each other for almost a year, which is to say, they sleep together, know everything about one another, have keys to each other’s places, cook for each other, and Samira owns more of Jack’s clothes than her own.
But they’re not in a relationship. Samira refuses to be the resident who fell in love with an attending, and she won’t let anything distract her from her work.
There are no labels. It’s casual, it’s fun, it’s easy.
Right?

Summary
She hated the feeling of being helpless and needy. Maybe even hated admitting that she had needs. The idea of baring them to someone, even someone she loved, put her on edge. She knew that Jack was offering to take care of her, but she also knew even he had his limits.
As Samira stewed on it, she didn't see the harm in pushing those limits a little. If Jack was going to send her home from work because she was too sick to help other people, then perhaps she'd show him what being too sick to help herself would look like.

Summary
“Work relaxes me, Mohan,” Abbot says, not quite chiding, his tone a shade warmer. He leans his hip against her workstation, ducking his head until she looks at him. “If I’m not at work, I’m trying to find a reason to come back to work. Let me read your article. I’ll be nice to you about it, not just because someone should, but because I can tell you without even reading it that it’s good.”
“You cannot possibly know that,” Samira blurts out.
He looks at her with an expression that’s stuck halfway between inquisitive and amused; the left side of his mouth threatens a smile. “Sure I can. I know you.”
