It would be like this forever one day, everything bedrock solid. Cait would wake up and there would be no sick moment of realization, no reacquainting herself with the gaping hole punched through her chest. The wound would heal, the infection would fade. She would look back on events without the feverish certainty that she could have done more, said more. Been more.
She didn’t believe it yet, not all the way, but she didn’t have to. Vi would help her.
Explorations of Cait and Vi's turbulent relationship in the first act of season two. An examination of the grief that slowly poisons their understanding of each other; a reflection on power, and the ways it is abused, denied, and mismanaged. Less of a relationship study than a relationship autopsy.

Summary
Garbage bag dragging behind him, camera bumping against his chest, Hayato thinks again of Kira’s hand on his mom’s shoulder. He thinks of the way his eyes would follow her around a room, as black and vacuous as a shark’s. The way she hesitated when he went in to kiss her on that last morning, hands curling into uncertain fists.
She must have known something.
Kira is dead and life goes on. An unquiet presence looms large over Morioh, threatening the tenuous peace between Hayato and his mother. Sometimes cats come back, even when we badly want them gone.

It’s truly ridiculous. Animals die all the time, every day. Shinobu has no qualms about eating meat or fish, is quick to swat at flies and spiders. Why is she so torn up about this particular animal? Because it was cute? Because she feels personally responsible? Because she’d seen its body, seen the glassy eyes, the thin, dark dribble seeping from the punctures in its throat?
There’s nothing special about taking a life, he wants to tell her. He closes his eyes, just for a moment, feeling so tired, so drained. You didn’t even do it on purpose.
After his narrow victory over an animal that weighs less than a loaf of bread, Kira Yoshikage wants nothing more than to patch himself up, clean house, and get to work on time. Things are never that simple, of course.
A missing scene fic set between the end of the Stray Cat fight and the morning afterwards. Illustrated.

“She has a picture of her daughter on her desk. Haven’t you seen it? Where do you think she came from, then?”
“I just figured she was divorced. Or maybe he died, or ran away, something like that.” Hushed laughter. “I feel bad for whoever’s chained to that old battle-axe.”
An alternate take on KiraShino. Kira Yoshiko, disguised as the recently-deceased Kawajiri Kisaki, has a lunch date with her doting husband. Illustrated.

Summary

Shinobu, lonely and bored, tries to reach out to the man she believes to be her husband. She's not quite prepared for what she finds.

Summary
Impulsiveness doesn’t suit Kira at all. He’s always prided himself on how well he’s kept his urges separate from his public persona, how he only indulges when he’s made room for it in his busy schedule. He’s not a pervert, or a weirdo, just a man with a few unusual hobbies he keeps mostly to himself. The fact that society at large condemns them isn’t his concern.
At least, it didn’t use to be.
Living as Kawajiri Kosaku and navigating the uncertain marriage he left behind, Kira struggles to cope. Leopards can't change their spots, after all.
