Summary
John lifts his glass, the rim to his lips, and forgets to drink.
Faroe, amazing and wonderful Faroe, is talking quickly. Her hands move rapidly this way and that as she recounts something trivial that had happened to her yesterday, and John loves the way Arthur watches her. There is a careful attention in his gaze, a tenderness John had been aware of only abstractly before. Seeing it for himself makes something in John’s chest tighten, unfamiliar and sharp.
And then Arthur catches John staring at him.
