Summary
Near the end of her pregnancy Concubine Gyokuyou is attacked in the middle of the night. Maomao steps in to defend her and while fighting for her life ends up taking the life of the attacker while sustaining serious injuries.
While Jinshi steps in to care for her physically, Maomao deals with the mental turmoil of taking a life.
With Maomao vulnerable and Jinshi doing his best to be patient with her, something begins to bloom between them.

As the man closes the door, he allows his lips to curl up slightly to mimic just a portion of the glow that smile gave off. Another thing to look forward to in his simple life.Alhaitham doesn't realize how bright of a light Kaveh has been in his life until that light has been snuffed out prematurely.

Kaveh ruins AlHaitham's favorite reading chair and while out shopping for a new one with him, he begins realizing through that he's maybe a little more into AlHaitham than previously believed, leading to him to keep a torn glove of AlHaitham's that he keeps under his pillow while he's wrestling with these new emotions for his roommate. He complains about the misfortune of liking someone who clearly doesn't like you back to Tighnari and Cyno, but they're no help, and instead, he ends up recruiting Collei's help in figuring things out, including whether AlHaitham likes him too or wants him to finally move out.
TLDR: Kaveh's crushin' and is oblivious and needs Collei to point out to him that AlHaitham might just like him back and that he should shoot his shot

The only evidence that someone ever lived in this room are the rumpled sheets in the corner of the neatly arranged bed, as if someone had been sitting on it before leaving.
When Alhaitham walks back to the living room to stare at his spare key, he realizes his forgotten tea has gone cold.
