Summary
Charles has to assume Carlos knows by now; they should’ve told him. He doesn’t know how long they took to tell Sebastian, but it had been almost inevitable for him. He walked into the 2020 season with an air of resignation. With Carlos…everyone thought he was going to get another year, at least. Charles thought he was going to get another year. Then, Carlos would move to Audi, to the surprise of approximately no one, and the two of them would part, and Charles would spend the rest of his career smiling at him across the room, fist bumping him in press conferences, and never touching him more than the others deemed appropriate.

“I’ve always wanted to go to New York at Christmas,” Charles said softly, eyes fixed on the floor, his eyelashes making a barrier against any potential contact between them.
“Why haven’t you?” Carlos simply asked, confused as to why someone with the money, time, and desire wouldn’t do something they wanted so badly. (He pointedly did not think too far into that idea.)
Charles' eyes flicked up to meet his and they were sparkling. It made Carlos’ chest feel strangely tight.
“I haven’t had anyone to go with me.”
[Charles and Carlos take on the Big Apple during winter break. Chaos, pining, and maybe even love ensue.]

Barry steps into the room and they’re arguing, which would be normal except it’s not really an argument because Hal has his palm pressed to Batman’s thigh (what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck) and is all up in his face, complaining at him, and it only lasts a second before Hal is pulling back to greet “Hey, Bear,” like it’s nothing.
So… okay. That’s a lot to think about.

"I kill so others don't have to," Bruce states firmly and clearly. This entire situation didn't seem like it could get any more bizarre, what with Bruce sitting in the dark and polishing guns, but somehow it just has, "While you are here you will not kill."
Jason's throat is scratchy and dry with terror, but the insatiable feeling of being talked over and disregarded is a fresh wound. He can't back down from this if he tried, "I've killed. I still kill. Who the fuck do you think you are to stop me?"
Bruce gently sets down his gun, and picks up the blade beside him with practised ease. Jason's blood runs cold when the man wearing his father's face says, "You will die by my hand if you try."
(Jason meets a version of Bruce who has manifested his fears very differently.)
