Zhang Hao chuckles, leaning into him. “Then I'm greatly looking forward to it.” They both look when Seungeon shouts out his name, waving him over. “Well, that's my cue. Like I said, text me, okay?”
Hanbin swallows. “Okay.” Zhang Hao's warmth leaves him, though his eyes are still mapping out Hanbin's features like he's afraid of forgetting how he looks. “I had a lot of fun, too. Thanks for being so…understanding.” He winces at the reminder of what led them to talking in the first place.
“Understanding?” Zhang Hao questions, head tilted. Then he snorts. “Oh, that. You need to stop worrying about that. In fact, I'd prefer if you set your wallpaper back to how it was. Or do I need to send you a new picture?” He grins at Hanbin's surprised expression, before turning on his heel and barging in between Seungeon and Yujin.
After Hanbin's lockscreen of another idol is broadcast to the world, he's expecting to be thoroughly embarrassed. What he's not expecting is for said idol to show a very sudden interest in him.

Summary
The conclusion Minho has come to after nights spent thinking of wavy brown hair when he spaces out during Jeongin’s kids shows, days spent with his eyes skimming the beach for a glimpse of honey skin, is that humans have an interest in the unknown.
Jisung is a new character in his day to day, the first in ages, ever since Hyeju got hired as a lifeguard. Jisung is pretty and he’s from the mainland but he seems to be setting up a life here, and Minho knows nothing about him besides his name. His brain has inexplicably latched onto a weaved story, a routine thing he and Hyunjin do, because humanity craves to learn more about the unknown.
The Jisung in his head is separate from the Jisung on the beach, though they look the same. A temporary annoyance, a psychological torment.
(OR: Minho, left to care for his younger brother after his parents death, works to make ends meet and doesn't have time for distractions. Jisung, a free-spirited and very distracting surfer, moves to town and turns Minho's world on it's head.)

And sometimes, that was a lonely place to be.

“Why didn't you tell me?” Jisung asks softly.
“That my marriage was falling apart?” Minho speaks so glibly, like it’s no big deal; like he’s talking about bad weather or heavy traffic.
Jisung groans, a little annoyed that this is how his concern is being met; but then he pulls back and considers—this is just how Minho is. How Minho always has been. He doesn’t like when people fuss over him, and he prefers keeping his problems to himself. Back in the day, Jisung knew how to penetrate his walls; he wants to think that he still does.
“Who wants to talk about a failing marriage, Jisung-ah?” Minho sighs. “We hardly see each other as it is—I’d rather have fun when we meet up. Wouldn’t you?”
in which: Jisung and Minho reconnect after Minho ends his marriage, and long buried memories, feelings, emotions, come bubbling up to the surface.

Jisung has to laugh. “I know most of Hyunjin’s side,” he says.
“Well obviously I’m a friend of Seungmin’s.”
Jisung pauses to stare, eyes narrowing with curiosity. “Yeah,” he plays along. “But you’re new.”
Minho chuckles. “You keep saying that. What does that mean?”
“I mean that you’re new. Here. Today. New. I’ve experienced this wedding over thirty times now and—” his breath hitches because he really just said that out loud, but there’s an immediate flicker in Minho’s eyes that has him exhaling with relief.
“Oh. Well.”

When Minho went to buy groceries, he saw Jisung’s face on the cover of a magazine at checkout. Hands shaking, he picked it up. It was their newest issue. Jisung’s face was smooth, flawless. He looked perfect. He looked like a stranger. Minho was filled with the sudden urge to cry. He didn’t.
If Minho had to describe Jisung in one page, nothing in the magazine would’ve made the cut. Jisung was a force of nature. He was the storm and the sun after rain. He was stubborn and wonderful and kind. Minho loved him still and knew at that moment that he always would — in silence, in loneliness, through phone and TV screens.
