For once, the urge to correct Phil leaves him. Dan doesn’t even laugh at his expense.
Dan can’t help but think they’re getting away with something. He always felt like this at home, but it astounds him that even fifteen hundred miles away, he still feels guilty. And that makes him feel a bit sick, if he's honest.

“I’m going to go practice some firebending forms,” Zuko says stiffly, running a hand through the tangles in his hair. “Tell Aang to join me if he wants to once he wakes up.” Gold eyes dart up to where Aang had strung up a makeshift hammock and was still sleeping soundly, snoring like a buffalo yak.
“Alright,” Sokka says, watching as he walks out without another word, evidently having reverted back into his usual brooding self. “Have fun!” He calls after Zuko loudly, which he means to be sarcastic, but comes out painfully, embarrassingly sincere. His face burns, and as soon as Zuko passes out of sight into the the temple, Katara turns to him, leveling him with a Look.
“You like him.” She says, and it’s not a question.

And right now, he was spiralling quietly, performing instead of being, afraid that one more slip would confirm what Bobby (and everyone else) seemed to believe – that Buck was too impulsive, too much, too wrong for this place.
So he shut up. Did his job. Laughed when the others laughed. Kept his head down.
And it worked. Kind of.

Rumi accidentally overhears her bandmates and instead of turning her away, they invite her to join. Oh, it's also her first time, and Mira and Zoey make sure it’s an experience she won’t forget.

Heart climbing into his throat, Bucky forced his feet to move and slowly walked to the door. Sam had flown in. From D.C. No heads up, no messages, he just came.
He’s here to break up with me. He saw the footage, saw the way I just stood there next to Val like some obedient dog, immediately falling into place again and is here to break up with me.

Months after re-appearing to Hob, Dream still hasn't told Hob where he's been the last century. He's been doing a half-decent job of actually pretending nothing *too* terrible happened! He was doing a half-decent job until he *wasn't*, anyway.
OR: Dream is always cold, and trying to numb and wall off the trauma. Hob gifts him a sweater, and the dam breaks. Repeatedly, as it turns out.

His friend had seemed a bit more pensive and more open, a little tired – had offered a few details on managing an entire realm, that had to be hard on anyone – and Hob hadn't pressed on why he'd missed the meeting in 1989. Dream had said only that he had not meant to miss it, that Hob bore no blame for it. Now he thinks something clearly happened. Perhaps there are bad things still happening. Hob mentally kicks himself for not noticing sooner. A dam of some kind has clearly broken.
