His little Angel glared and jabbed a finger hard into his bruised side, to which Hisoka visibly flinched for the Angel’s benefit.
(For he had a high pain threshold, but his Angel was trying to scold him.)

He hasn't seen any of them except through a camera for five years and his entire visit is a surprise. He expects to stay and help with the move and spend lost time with his parents before returning back to his rigorous work/work lifestyle.
He's been working hard for this for the latter half of his life. He knows he could put more of an effort to visit but something holds him back from doing so.

“Yeah, you tell yourself that,” he scoffs, the tiniest of a mocking laugh in his voice. “It’s okay, you can kick me out — you can pretend this will never happen again and vehemently avoid me the next time we see each other.” She feels rather than sees his eyes on her, feels rather than taste the poison spewing out of his lips. “And then same time next week, you’ll linger outside my apartment door and I’ll fuck the attitude out of you all over again.”

Maybe it was the shoulders a millimeter too broad, the arms an inch too long. Maybe it was because he was puffing smoke into her face, blowing calm breaths on her lips — but even for his stature, he was still slightly bigger, slightly taller. Slightly more intimidating, more charming. It scared her as much as it spurred her on, and his leer dug so much into her he had her rooted there.
