Summary
"A griffin for my strongest soldier." The Dragon King pulls Felix's unblemished face forward by the jaw, meaty fingers pushing into his cheeks with little remorse, sure to leave marks. "He may look thin but his swordsmanship is like no other."
The Stray Leader's expression is unreadable from across the low table. He appears to be mulling over the idea in his head, eyes continuously flicking between the King's fingers and his own hands resting in his lap. Felix waits, pliant under the Warlord's grip.
"Fine." As if resigning himself to his fate, Christopher nods slowly, "I'll agree to those terms."
The King looks satisfied, irritatingly so. He casts Felix's face out of his grip without another thought, beckoning the Cle member forward with his other hand. "It's settled then. May this exchange be bound in blood."
Yellow Wood once held the mysterious power to shield the Stray Lands from evil, but now with its power dwindled to practically nothing, the only way for them to protect their livelihood is to make a deal with that same evil, the Dragon Tribes. Felix, the Tribe's strongest soldier, is given in exchange for a griffin, a creature sacred to the Stray Lands.

Summary
Jeongin smiles again, this time more fully, showing off rows of straight teeth. “Maybe I knew I’d find a pretty boy on the balcony,” he teases. “Maybe I’m hoping he’ll take me home.”
Hyunjin’s arms constrict, wrapping him more tightly bound. Maybe under different circumstances he would have agreed. Maybe, maybe, maybe. Hyunjin is sick of playing maybes.
“I don’t want to go home,” he says, blunt. He meets Jeongin’s gaze with the intention of holding it for the first time since they met.
Jeongin’s smile relaxes into something more serious. Hyunjin chooses to perceive it as sincerity. “Okay. So don’t.”
(OR: Hyunjin, sick of failing to live up to his parents expectations, finds a savior in Jeongin, a stranger who offers him a spot in his grunge band's tour van.)

“Hyunjin is dead,” Jeongin breathed. He looked up to see the others stare back at him with wide eyes, Hyunjin towering over them at the back, the light from the window in the hallway lighting up his figure. “They told me he was dead.”
Hyunjin's dark eyes found Jeongin’s tearful ones.
“Not dead,” Hyunjin said with a poisonous smile. “Just gay.”
Or: Jeongin has spent years mourning the loss of his first love, a love he was told by his church was sinful and wrong, but one he just couldn't stop from blooming in his chest. Now, years later, Jeongin meets Hyunjin again, very alive and also very different from how he used to be back in their shared church.

Casually, Hyunjin says, “I appreciate your concern, but the Demon King isn’t waiting for us back at the palace. The Demon King is here. So you don’t have to worry about him getting angry with me about how long it takes to get back.”
Felix frowns. “Why would the Demon King be here?”
He shrugs. “Because I’m the Demon King.”
Or: Felix is a Night spirit in the Heavenly Realm, spending eternity serving the immortal beings that control the human world below. But when a man claims Felix is a long-lost demon prince, prophesied to bring down the Demon King, Felix is kidnapped and brought to the dark realm that's supposedly his home.
Taking down the Demon King turns out to be a lot harder than he thinks, especially when he starts to fall in love with him. And the closer he gets to handsome, secretive King Hyunjin, the more suspicious Felix becomes of his long-lost demon family's intentions.
