    Clay hasn’t talked to George in years, 9 years exactly. But on his way home, freshly released from his military duty he meets the omega from 9 years ago. The male that he had last seen in college the day they had that stupid argument. An argument that made Clay storm out of the dorm in a hurry as George screamed insults after him.

    DreamXD pushed his hand hard over George’s mouth, attempting to stop any further attempts to call for help. The experiment struggled a couple seconds longer before breaking, warm tears falling down his face, puddling in the crevice of the god’s golden hands.

    “Where am-” he coughed, his words muffled and quiet.

    “Shh,” the deity brought his hand away from George’s mouth, moving to scrape his nails through dark brown hair. “It’s okay."

    It's not bad. It's also not what she was hoping for when he picked her up on his motorcycle and snuck her onto the rooftop of the school. Each of them armed with a slushie. It seemed like a real date. He wasn’t the tie-and-flowers-for-her-mother type, the kind of guy to drive her to the nearest Chinese food restaurant forty-five minutes out of Sherwood, Ohio for something “exotic” and expecting a handjob for the road. He wasn’t a prom date kind of guy. For all she knew, he survived on cafeteria food and cherry slushies, eating mostly while standing, efficiently, not talking much until her was done.

     

    Still, she expected something a little more usual, even though nothing is usual with him, up until the moment he flicked his straw instead of answering her question, in that infuriating way, and cherry ice snapped against her neck.
