Summary
A Chemical AU - when a virus hits the west coast and San Diego is suddenly overrun by the infected dead, Tom, Pop, Chris, Cara, Anja, and the two babies escape to the cabin in Big Bear to make their last stand against the zombie hordes. When the situation grows dire, Tom entrusts his best friend Chris with the sacred task of getting Anja and the girls to safety, leaving himself and Cara and Pop behind to cover their escape. Separated for almost a year as the pandemic dies out and not knowing whether each other is dead or alive now, Tom makes his way south on foot in search of his reason for living. Will he find her again?
Takes place a few years into Chemical's future, though it doesn't belong in the actual Chemical timeline - it's just a side flight of fancy that I had to write. Enjoy!
Originally written in April 2016. I felt it was appropriate to bring this back now, in March 2020, because...well, because it fits. And we all could use a happy ending right about now :)

Summary

‘Let’s find you someone really friendly to sit next to. I think I know just the person’
She lead her forwards towards a little boy sitting in the library section of the classroom, flicking happily through a picture version of The Jungle Book,
‘Thomas?’ Mrs Williams called, causing the boy to look up,
‘This is Emily. She’s feeling a bit scared and I wondered if you would look after her for me?’
She encouraged Emily forwards and she sat down next to the boy cautiously as he stared at her with a big grin, reaching out and taking her hand,
‘Hello I’m Thomas. Don’t be scared, school is going to be fun! I’ll look after you’
Emily spent a moment looking at Thomas, before reaching up and twirling one of his unruly blonde curls around her finger, ‘I like your hair’ she giggled. He shifted closer to her, sliding the book so it was half on her lap too,
‘I’m reading the Jungle Book. Do you like it?’
Emily nodded.
‘Me too! That means we can be friends. Best friends’ Thomas replied.
That was the first time Emily Grace Mayhew met Thomas William Hiddleston.

Summary

Loki, God of Mischief - banished to Earth, locked out of his own time - has made himself a nice little life among the mortals, moving easily among them while working as an assassin of sorts. Was it an accidental twist of fate that brought him across the path of the monster? Or was their meeting fated for a specific purpose? Either way, the two earthbound abominations can't seem to quit each other...
Sort of a sequel to Sanguine, sort of a sequel to The Dragon Queen - if you haven't read both of those, I would highly recommend you do (though it isn't necessary). There are a lot of references to events of The Dragon Queen, and of course various characters from Sanguine are peppered generously throughout.

King McClary is a difficult sort of man - quiet, withdrawn, sullen and surly, living wild and appreciating the company of no one but the sheep he herds across the rough Highland hills. When the noisy woman from somewhere else shows up on his land, all he wants is to get her gone. Until a blizzard strands them together in his tiny cabin and nature starts to do its unwelcome thing.
Sgàile Leannan translates roughly to "Demon Lover", "Ghost Lover", or any variation thereof...I'm not being terribly nitpicky about absolute translations because Scottish Gaelic to English isn't an exact science. Just enjoy and have fun ;)
