He was in Luke’s school and then Jack’s shop and then their house and then the band. He’s everywhere. He always has been. Luke can’t do anything to stop it. He’s like bacteria. Or the flu. It’s when they overstep (or, in Jisung’s case, trip over) the boundary between being friends and more that Jisung finds he cares far less about losing their little games than he does about losing Minho.

From closer, it’s clear that Minho is about his age. He’s handsome— very much so— in an untouchable sort of way. Straight nose, sharp eyes, a defined cupid’s bow. He looks sculpted rather than born. Jisung might shrink under the weight of his presence if the situation were different.
Knowing that Minho is dying ruins the illusion of perfection.

He thinks Minho could be the hobby that sticks. The thing that will finally stop the clock on his humiliating, slow demise— his deterioration into nothing but soil, and dirt, and the dust of flower petals that never grow correctly.
