Suddenly, a voice cried out, the cadence achingly familiar. “Owen, Scott, Pyro!? ARE YOU GUYS THERE!?” That was Shelby’s voice, but she wasn’t the normal, cheery girl he knew; she was scared. “PLEASE, I NEED HELP!” She screamed, her figure finally appearing through the mist.
Something inside Owen shifted—one second, he was alerted to her presence with a pounding heart, and the next he was by her side, instinctively hiding her body behind his, an arm protectively held up in front of her.

He whirled around, stumbling slightly on trembling legs but started running for the entrance. His breathing was fast, he kept stumbling in the darkness. He had a torch with him, but the light wasn't helping much as the speeds he was going.
Avid let out a noise of relief, seeing light shining from around the corner. He sped up even faster, letting go of the stake because he was almost there-
Something stepped in front of him. Avid let out a yell of fear that rolled into a cry of pain as he hit the thing full force and fell backwards from his momentum.
Avid's breath wheezed, his vision spun. He shook his head, trying to see what had happened but-
“Well would you look at that.”
His blood ran cold.
