Big brown eyes looked curiously at Megumi. They were warm and inviting, like the hot cocoa Tsumiki made on Boxing Day. His tanned skin contrasted against his light pink hair. But what caught Megumi the most off guard was the bright smile that lit up the other boy's face. It was like all of the morning light floating into the train compartment was honed in on him. Like he was the center of the universe.

Summary
Megumi had known Itadori Yuuji for less than a day. Yet, He was kind, brave, and selfless. He’d defended his brother to the end, even as they fought one another. If Sukuna were to die now…what would that do to him? What kind of person would that make him into?
Surely not a better one.
“Regardless of whether he’s a vessel or not, Sukuna consumed a special grade cursed object. Regulations would mandate he dies, no matter what.” Megumi took a deep breath, lifting his chin to look Gojo in the eyes, even with the blindfold as a buffer. “But I don’t want him to die.”
Gojo was silent for a moment, even though his lips had stretched into a smile. It was rare, really, for Gojo to come anywhere close to resembling genuine emotion, and yet in this moment…in this moment, Megumi knew he was dealing with the real Gojo.
“Is that a personal opinion?” Gojo asked, with his genuine, sad little smile.
“Yes, it’s a personal opinion,” Megumi returned. “Please save him.”

The Itadori twins will either prove those who believe this wrong…or prove them right.

“Did you kill them?”
Yuuji wiped the blood from his hands on his sleeve. “Yeah.”
His mother stepped closer, hollow eyes aglow interest. “And how did it feel?”
He shrugged. “Nothing, really.”
For a moment she studies him, then smiles and smooths his hair back like he’s still a little kid. “Good,” she says softly. “You’re learning.”
Yuuji doesn’t answer. He just stands there and lets her touch him, staring past her shoulder at the drying blood staining his hands, like rust sinking into metal.
Sick. He felt sick.

When Itadori Yuuji was one a curse broke into his room. There was nothing special about this curse. When it looked down at the baby in the crib, it saw not a young boy, but the vessel of a king. Not five minutes later the curse was gone, leaving the wailing of the boy behind. When his
notmother and father came bursting in, nothing they did could console the boy, for his cheeks ran red with tears of blood from the secondary eyes that had split open his skin.The next morning, after finally coaxing the child to sleep once more, Itadori Jin awoke to find the brain matter of his wife splattered up the walls of their shared bedroom.
At fifteen, Yuuji had grown used to the voice in his head craving violence and murder. It took only one mistake to uproot the careful equilibrium he had created. His friends had been caught by a curse, one he should have prevented. Now the sorcerers knew he existed. Now he was to be executed.

Summary
Fushiguro Megumi is a poacher; a lethally trained hunter working to capture the last dregs of humanity to feed his vampiric clients and keep his sister safe. Megumi assumes that he will be hunting down his own kind for the end of his days until coven leader, Mahito, makes him an offer he can't refuse:
A man named Itadori Yuuji has fled the chains of the coven to try and disappear into the wilds of Japan, stealing an important vampiric relic in his escape. Megumi must find Itadori and return him to the coven alive, using whatever means necessary to gain his trust. Should Megumi fulfill their contract, he and his sister will receive full immunity from vampire-kind as they walk away from their dealings. One final contract.
But when Megumi does make contact with Itadori, he finds that doing his job comes with more complications than expected.

“And who are you, again?”
“Fushiguro Megumi, special inspector,” the man said sharply. “Do you realize how stupid you all were? You could have been killed. Do what you’re told next time.”
“People were killed,” Yuji said and gestured to the swaying ceiling above them. “If anyone else was going to die, it would have been while we were stuck waiting for you to get here. What are you even inspecting for?”
“...Pests.”
“...Pests?”
“Yes.”

Or, in a world where Itadori Wasuke never died, Yuji has been working as a firefighter, blissfully unaware of curses. He takes care of his grandfather, helps out around the neighborhood, and saves cats from trees in a quiet corner of Sendai.
Megumi, on the other hand, is tired of the jujutsu world. When he comes across a young man too good to be true, he falls for him. And Megumi is perfectly happy keeping Yuji in the dark about jujutsu to preserve their small slice of normalcy.
However, Kenjaku never planned on letting Sukuna's Vessel live in peace forever. Soon enough, his plans would come together, and no meddling sorcerers were going to stand between him and his tools.
