Summary
Athelas is a mer on the run, aiming for the Hammerfell border after two failed attempts to cross into Cyrodiil and Morrowind. Unfortunately, he has to stop in Markarth for the night, but at least there's an abandoned house he can break into. No one's entered or left for years, according to the innkeeper. It probably won't be comfortable, but it's a decent hiding place, and that's all he needs for now. Somewhere out of the way. Somewhere safe.
This will be one of the worst decisions Athelas has ever made.
