There is no reply, so Yingxing is mildly startled to see that Ren is present in the living room, sitting curled on the window seat. He is hugging his sword to his chest, his self-soothing habit, and a familiar black coat is draped over his shoulders, red ribbons trailing out onto the cushions—Yingxing’s coat.
His heart seizes a little at the sight, because it’s as if Ren has wrapped himself in Yingxing for comfort.
But the air of melancholy about Ren, mind seeming a million miles away as he looks out into the rain, quickly sobers Yingxing’s thoughts.

“Why make it difficult at all when we can easily reach a compromise, Dan Heng.” Upon being this close, Anaxa has to tilt his head up slightly to meet Dan Heng’s height. “An annual occurrence means that there is no better time than now to detail and observe the conditions of this cycle. And-”

-Anaxa’s persistence in constantly following around Dan Heng at the brink of his heat has landed them both in a peculiar situation. Summary
Dan Heng wakes up feeling like ants have begun biting their way through his flesh as flames dance across his skin.
He’s physically shaking from the fluctuating temperatures in his body and he can hardly think through the hazy cloud engulfing his brain.
He needs… he needs something. He doesn’t know what, but he crawls out of his bed anyway to seek it out. The task is much harder than usual, his instincts whining to return back to the bed, to where he is comfortable and knows he is safe.
Dan Heng stumbles out of the warm room, leaving the comfort of his nest. Only temporarily, he comforts himself, even as a whine slips from his mouth.
He spots the one he is finding quickly, and he feels himself becoming wet as he drinks in the sight. The man hasn’t moved from the couch, seemingly deep in sleep.
