And given that Ivo very recently came to a certain Realization about Stone and, subsequently, decided to be nicer to him, kicking in the door and destroying his entire life seems... suboptimal. But that's fine. Ivo can work with that. Ivo can be normal too.

Thrown together, it's a test of Robotnik's control and Stone's patience, as the Doctor tries to get rid of the Agent, and the Agent tries to stick with the Doctor longer than anyone else has before.
It's a powder keg waiting to go off, but will the results be so negative when it does?

At the tail end of the Federation-Cardassian Wars, the Obsidian Order agent Garak is captured by Section 31 during a mission on Romulus. Their director offers Garak a chance to continue working to destabilise the Romulans – a mutually beneficial arrangement for both Cardassia and the Federation, wouldn’t you agree? And a far better option than rotting away in a cell for the rest of the war.
The recruitment spiel is interrupted by an excitable junior science lieutenant babbling about how he just needs a few more super-heating plasma coils for his project, he only blew the lab up once, and the results are really, really going to be worth it, he promises. There is definitely something off about him, and he clearly doesn’t understand that he’s interrupting a highly delicate… interview.
He is also the most beautiful human that Garak has ever seen.

“You don’t think I’m skinny?” Bashir asks with a warm, amused smile, turning more fully toward the patient. “I am terribly sorry; I’m just about to take lunch. But if you are willing to wai–”
Faster than even Garak can predict, the man pulls out a weapon Garak has never seen before, aims it directly at Bashir, and shoots him point blank.
Or: Julian gets injured and Garak will do anything to make sure he can get better

Julian sat quietly, still refusing to give anything away.
Luther Sloan is sent to DS9 sometime in early Season One for the purposes of surveillance and keeping an eye on potential security risks. He quickly becomes close to a wide-eyed and hopeful Julian Bashir. It gets worse, and worse, and worse.
Told through the eyes of various friends aboard the station, they watch as Julian slowly deteriorates in front of them, struggling to find a way they can help.
