"I know. I shouldn't have come here and wasted my time waiting for him to finish up—"
Mu Qing's heart skipped a beat as Feng Xin leaned in close. "You deserve so much better than him. You're too pretty for that prick."
Her breath was warm against Mu Qing's ear, but her voice sounded calm and soothing. Then Feng Xin's fingers brushed a strand of hair behind her ear and caressed her cheek with her rough thumb, something Mu Qing didn't expect from her. She wondered what Feng Xin does for a living.
"And how about you waste your time with me, hmm?" Feng Xin proposed as she leaned her elbow against the counter. Her posture exuded an effortless grace. With her head resting gently on her hand, she seemed at ease, the subtle curve of her lips hinting at a secret amusement.
"What?"
"I can be a better boyfriend than him."
For a moment, Mu Qing was speechless, her thoughts glitching in her mind.
What did she say?
Basically, Pei Ming brings his best friend, Mu Qing, to a club where Mu Qing meets Feng Xin.

Summary
Feng Xin had wanted to ask Mu Qing to dress Feng Xin for a while but couldn't figure out how without losing face. Mu Qing's style was pretentious, flowing, and elegant compared to Feng Xin's. Still, Feng Xin couldn't deny how nice Mu Qing's robes felt when they dragged against Feng Xin's skin during their rendezvous.
But, if Mu Qing saw his current state, Feng Xin had no doubt he could coerce Mu Qing into picking out new robes for Feng Xin of his own accord.

You might be thinking "A night of indiscretion between those two seems highly unlikely..." and Pei Ming and various other characters would agree with you.
For some puzzling reason, Feng Xin expressly hates this whole idea. And so does someone else.
But you know, Mu Qing and Shi Qingxuan make a pretty good couple.

It’s chilly enough outside the bar that Mu Qing regrets not wearing a jacket; he folds his arms in front of his chest as he stands close to Feng Xin, leaning over his phone’s screen as he pulls up the ride sharing app. He’s close enough to see the fine stitching on the lapel of Feng Xin’s jacket, and close enough to catch the faint trace of a floral cologne clinging to him.
Feng Xin hesitates with the app open rather than typing a destination address.
“If you want,” he says after a second, “you could come back to my place.”
