Summary
“The Ship of Dreams” they called it, but Wylan thinks otherwise. He’s being forced into an arranged marriage by his father as a way to secure wealth for the Van Eck family. Wylan is miserable and is ready to do anything to get off the ship.
Jesper thinks of the Ship of Dreams as an opportunity, as a chance of freedom. He has recently moved out of his parents’ home and into a rusty apartment, and thinks that his life could be much better. By pure luck, he lands himself a ticket to New York, and is ready to explore his new chance at an adventure.
Wylan and Jesper live the most opposite lives but collide regardless, and realize that they have a lot to learn and a lot to teach each other. But when disaster strikes, they might be at risk of losing one another.

Summary
King Nikolai Lanstov had been thinking of a way to bring peace between the countries for many months, and he had finally come up with something. A dating tv show called True North, where 3 contestants from each country come together to find love. Nikolai knew that not everyone would be eager to participate in this tv show, so he came up with a prize that no one could refuse: 20 million vlachka for whoever makes it to the end of the tv show.
(basically a “what if the crows were on a dating show together?”)

Wylan flushes fully. I don’t have a crush on Jesper anymore, he reminds himself. There’s no reason to feel so hopeful by those words.
So Wylan scoffs, and asks, “What, for practice?”
Jesper looks away, and casual as ever, shrugs. He faces Wylan again with a grin. “Yeah. Yeah, I mean, why not?”

Summary
It’s a relatively straightforward job: Jesper will pretend to be the handmaid to the withdrawn and sheltered Van Eck heir, and convince him to elope with another mercher. That’s all Jesper has to do on his end, and then the Crows will walk away with 45 million kruge. It’s a simple task.
Or it would be, if not for the fact that there seems to be more to Wylan Van Eck than meets the eye, and Jesper can’t help but be intrigued—and maybe a bit charmed, too.
