The second he reached her she felt his muscular chest brush against her own, her drenched towel forming the only barrier between their bodies and as Childe leaned forward to place his hand on the edge of the pool next to her, she felt her throat run dry.
He was towering over her in a way that made her blood run hot, his face tilted downward so that their lips were only inches away and as their hot breaths mingled, azure eyes gleamed with nothing but raw hunger in the dimly lit room.
“I told you I’d make you relax.” His low timbre echoed in her ears, sending a shiver ghost over her skin and when she felt his other hand move to gently take hold of her chin, she felt her heart still at the intensity of his gaze. “And I have every intention of keeping my promise.”

The simplicity of moments like this was really one of life's greatest bounties. His stomach was full, he'd sampled several delicious brews, he was spending the evening uninterrupted with Lumine, his favorite person. Was this not the very definition of contentment? Lying here beneath the endless sea of stars made him feel so small, almost insignificant. That wasn't exactly a bad thing. Though he may have been a God to this world, he was nothing to the universe at large. Just another life. To Venti, whose position as Archon at times felt more like shackles than liberty, that thought was comforting. Made that fleeting domestic dream of his seem almost feasible.

Summary
Growing up in Mondstadt with her brother, Lumine had always heard about the tale of how the Anemo God, Barbatos, fought to secure their freedom from being taken by a powerful witch. And though he won the battle, the witch had the last laugh as a curse was placed upon him causing him to fall into a deep slumber. He would remain in that state until he was awoken by a kiss from a maiden blessed by a star's light.
Though the story itself felt a bit ludicrous to her, Lumine did feel there was a grain of truth to it, as according to those same stories, the same day he closed his eyes five centuries ago also began a series of trials that caused many to fear would bring an end to the land he protected.
And to top it all off, Lumine has been having strange dreams as of late that consists of a strange green-garbed bard who bares a startling resemblance to the God of Freedom that is so revered.
