"I saw you match. You fought very well. Congrats on the win," he says, and Hyuntak nods slowly. He feels flattered but refuses to show it on his face.
"Thank you," Hyuntak responds.
The man takes a sip of his drink, and Hyuntak subconsciously follows the motion. "I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Geum Seongje. I'm the owner of a gym. Have you heard the name of Venus Gym?"
Hyuntak stiffens. "I… have."
"I can cut to the chase then. I want to sponsor you," the man — Seongje — says. "Appoint you a trainer from my gym, get you ready, and make your debut. What do you think?"
"What's the catch?" he asks.
Seongje stares at him for a second before chuckling, but soon the chuckle turns into a full laugh that has him throwing his head back slightly. Once he calms, he huffs, "Smart boy."
Mutual benefit – that's what their relationship starts as. It just doesn't stay that way.

Instead, his fingers hit paper.
Hyun-tak pulled it out slowly, like it might bite him. A folded envelope. Not crumpled like it was shoved in, but neat. As if some had placed it there on purpose.
Jun-tae leaned in close, his cheek against Hyun-tak’s shoulder. “No way!”
Hyun-tak flipped the envelope over. He thought it was something stupid, maybe something dumb like some teacher notice, some club thing. Or maybe, someone had placed the letter inside the wrong locker-

Summary
Hyuntak and Seongje are not in a relationship. They've never been in one, they're both sure of this fact that they will never be in one, not with each other.
They're just… using each other.
They are two people who stand on opposing lines. They get into fights, they throw curses, insults, punches, and kicks. And somewhere along the lines, they also started kissing. Then the kissing turns into something more.
It's not a big deal.
They're sexually compatible and romantically incompatible. They both know that, and they both like it like that. This no-strings-attached thing that they have going on, something that's bound to fizzle out at some point.
That is why Hyuntak feels nothing but panic and disbelief as he sits on Seongje's bed across from Seongje with a pregnancy test lying in between them.

It's all power play, after all. Baekjin was the strongest, and that's why he stood over all those other little gangs.

It's an exhausting ordeal.

Gon chuckles, looking at Killua through the mirror, “no, I was thinking more along the lines of — sleep with me?”
