    Summary

    “I didn’t do anything wrong, did I?”

“You didn’t,” Mydei says, his gaze averting from Phainon. He takes a deep breath, steeling himself. “You did nothing wrong, Phainon.”

“Then… what do we need to talk about?” He watches Phainon take a hesitant step forward. Mydei curses, frustrated, and jerks his head up.

“I think we should take a break.”

(These days, Mydei wonders if he's been living under the shadow of his past self all this time.)

    Summary

“Kaveh,” Alhaitham said, with the dispassion of a man invoking legal scripture, “this is not literature. This is fanfiction.”

Kaveh, who had just lovingly—no, reverently—placed a hefty, dog-eared paperback on the shared reading table between them, gasped as though Alhaitham had just insulted his mother, which, arguably, this was worse.

“You’re just too emotionally constipated to appreciate a narrative told through—through five alternating timelines and a cursed dagger that represents generational trauma!”

Alhaitham leaned back in the armchair, visibly appalled. “There’s a typo on the spine, Kaveh.”

“It’s art. It transcends the shackles of your suffocating academic gatekeeping.”

“It’s called Spell My Name Right, and they didn’t. That’s not a metaphor. That’s illiteracy.”

“Oh, and what was that drivel you gave me last week, huh? The twenty-seven page thesis on the socio-political allegory of grain silos?”

Or, Alhaitham calls it “methodology” while Kaveh calls it “metaphor,” and neither of them call it love.

"Can you all stop thirsting over my roommate? That's my job, thank you very much."

In which Phainon is very bad at games, surprisingly good at streaming, and somewhere between both at falling in love.

    Summary

The problem, Kaveh decided, was not just that Alhaitham was shirtless. It was that Alhaitham wielded shirtlessness like a weapon. Tactical nudity. Intellectual exhibitionism. A war crime of the senses.

He couldn’t stop seeing it. The muscles. The droplets. The implication of sin in every stretch and step and lean. It was artillery-grade seduction, and Kaveh was but a civilian caught in the blast radius.

    And Alhaitham—that bastard—was enjoying it.

In which Alhaitham is purposely attractive. Kaveh is spiraling.

    Summary

“Reset the terminal.” Azar ignored the fallen man as he waved off his lackey to act. Finally, he turned back to the fallen man on the ground. “May Irminsul be cleansed of your abhorrent presence.”

“I won’t…” Kaveh tried to say, but speaking was taking far more strength than he had at the moment. His blinks were getting longer, and Azar’s image was getting fuzzy around the edges. It wasn't fair—he still had so much he needed to do.

    So where’s the rest?

Alhaitham stared at the blank ending page, seeing nothing about a continuation like the past three books had. He flipped through the book again, just in case somehow in his binge reading he missed something that told him the next book would be delayed, the author was on a hiatus, or that something was going to happen at all, but there was nothing.

Really? That was it? What an unsatisfying ending!

Alhaitham gets up to do something about this frustration, but during his late night jog, he ends up finding himself in the mysterious nation of Teyvat right outside Sumeru City. Now, he might actually have the power to do something and help his favorite character, Kaveh, get the happy ending he deserves.
