“No, no, I know all of that already. I meant...the tapping. This.” Shouta sighs frustratedly, leaning forward to deliver three quick, successive taps to the top of his hand. Hizashi’s heart jumps.
“I always see them doing it when we’re over, and I think I remember them doing it, sometimes, when we were younger too, but I don’t know of any JSL signs like that. Is it some sort of code? What does it mean?”
“......Here.” Gently, Hizashi reaches across the table and takes Shouta’s hand in his.
“Like this, not too quickly.” Three squeezes. He smiles affectionately at Shouta.
“It means, ‘I love you’.”
And Shouta’s face flushes red.
