There was no way he was going to get any sleep tonight. What he did was spend the night sick with worry and refreshing sports sites looking for news of Shane’s injuries. He couldn’t close his eyes without seeing Shane’s unmoving body in the ice.

It had already been a while since Will had become aware of who Hannibal truly was. But Will still hadn't come to terms with who he really was. The more he accepted his so-called hallucinations as part of him, he realized they might not be something so apart from himself, but something he had pushed deep down since he could remember, and Hannibal was the one who managed to bring it out of him. It made him hurt so bad, but then Hannibal was there next to him and he felt seen, he felt understood, he felt accepted. Like he could truly be himself and he wouldn't have to deny all those ugly thoughts that were desperate to burst out of him.
