Jungwon’s heart caught again. The words were already packed with so much meaning, so much love. When Jay had first said it two weeks ago, Jungwon was filled with a sense of comfort so strong it took him until Jay finished cooking his ramen to fight down the butterflies in his stomach to actually be able to eat it. But now-
Jungwon looked at Jay. Their eyes stayed stuck on each other as they breathed in the silence.

His ex-boyfriend is a hunky lawyer who represents clients while dressed in luxury brands on a daily basis. Meanwhile, Jungwon has worn the same, raggedy scrubs for a week now, hasn’t washed his hair in days, and is sneaking into said ex’s high-rise apartment building to steal back his delivery of three packets of sour cream and onion chips. He knows how this looks on paper.

If he tried hard enough, Jay could probably push himself up and wrangle Jungwon off him. But he simply doesn't have the energy for it; it's far too early to exert himself like that.

Jungwon moves to pull out the axe and Jay's eyes rake over him. The serenity isn't an affectation. There's a slight tremor in his legs but it must be adrenaline more than anything else. His face is cool, relaxed. There's nothing in his face to indicate he's scared or apprehensive. He looks perfectly in his element.
Not for the first time, Jay gets the sense that he and Jungwon are two worlds apart. What is new is the sense of danger.
