Work Text:

When Nie Huaisang walked through the door of the sect leader’s room, he was astounded of the fact that his long-time partner was still hovered over some paperwork, despite how late it was. It seemed that Jiang Cheng was so deep in his work he didn’t even notice his arrival. Nie Huaisang sighed, then walked up to him, and poked his shoulder gently. Jiang Cheng jumped with a gasp, throwing his pen away. It drawn out a small chuckle from the other man.

”A-Sang! That was not funny!” Jiang Cheng said with an angry pout on his lips. Nie Huaisang only shook his head, then grabbed his upper arm, and pulled him up into a standing position. ”What are you doing?” Jiang Cheng asked, looking towards his desk behind them as his boyfriend pulled him to his bed.

”Making sure you get to bed finally,” Nie Huaisang said, matter-of-factly. ”A-Ling has told me that you have been in your room all day doing paperwork. You didn’t even go to have meals with him.” Nie Huaisang said that on such voice it made Jiang Cheng feel guilty. ”He really likes you, you know.”

”I know, I know,” Jiang Cheng grumbled, as he tried to ignore the throbbing pain behind his temples that he wasn’t aware of till his boyfriend had literally dragged him away from his desk. ”But I cannot let anything go wrong with those snakes at the annual Discussion Conference.”

Nie Huaisang could understand why Jiang Cheng was so worried. With his anger issues, he wasn’t the most loved member of the cultivator community, and there were Sect Leaders who would’ve given anything to see him making a mistake, thus undermining his status.

”I know, baby, I know,” he mumbled, kissing Jiang Cheng on the top of his head, making the other blush. That was when he saw how the other rubbed his temples a bit. ”Headache?”

”Building,” Jiang Cheng confirmed with a grimace. Hearing that, Nie Huaisang stood up from the bed, and walked back to Jiang Cheng’s desk where a still steaming cup of tea could be found. ”What are you doing?” Jiang Cheng asked, watching as his boyfriend put some herbs in his tea, and stirred them around.

”Making some tea that would help you out with that sucking migraine,” Nie Huaisang informed him as he walked back with cup in hand.

He reached it towards Jiang Cheng who drank it with one go after a few seconds of blowing. The effect was immediate, and Jiang Cheng sighed as he felt the pain dispensing. Nie Huaisang climbed back behind him, and pulled him to his chest. After that, he touched Jiang Cheng’s temples and started to massage them. Jiang Cheng closed his eyes, leaning his head to Nie Huaisang’s chest.

”Just relax, my love,” Nie Huaisang whispered in his ear, making his knees weak. ”You deserve it.”
