Kingman, ArizonaAfter returning to the humble trailer park he was raised in to help take care of his troubled family, 24-year-old Johnny begins to notice his hometown is changing. Frequent earthquakes, missing people, abandoned property, and mysterious ailments plague Kingman, worsening each day. As he attempts to help his mother overcome her opiate addiction, Johnny notices she has started behaving like the locals. He quickly begins to realize the threat in his hometown is unprecedented: he has to do anything necessary to protect his mother.
Meanwhile, miles and miles below the surface in the cybernetic stasis prison of a massive secret society, 28-year-old Zeke has been determined to be humanity's last hope. After being removed from stasis, he is told that his prison sentence will be terminated and he'll be allowed to return to his family if he is able to prevent an infectious all-consuming lifeform known as the Bloom from erupting onto the surface, causing a mass-extinction event. Forced into a corner by the society that betrayed him and left incapable of refusing by the brainwashing he endured in stasis, Zeke consents to do whatever it takes to ensure his family's safety, and that of the world.
