The King's Legends

Summary:

King's Legends, one of the most successful rock bands in the world, has a problem. Their lead singer has unexpectedly retired to become a full-time father, leaving them just three months to find a replacement before a massive world tour.

They find him in the most unlikely of places.

Merlin is an instant hit with the band, the fans, and especially the band's manager, Arthur Pendragon. For Arthur, it's love at first sight. For Merlin, it's impossible. A painful past and a closely guarded secret make any future together seem futile.

As the Legends travel the globe, they find themselves caught up in a scandal, facing a near-death experience, dealing with an obsessive stalker, and learning a revelation that changes everything they thought they knew. And through it all, Merlin and Arthur are plagued by strange dreams that seem completely random and impossible to explain.

By the time the tour reaches its final stop, nothing will be the same again.

Including the answer to what those dreams really mean.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Many might have already seen on last night's show, Late Night with Mithian, that King's Legends made a big announcement. Tristan Carter, lead singer, has officially declared his retirement now that his contract has expired and his wife has revealed she's expecting.

He has been leading the number-one band on the charts for the past five years. With him front and center, the five men have received countless awards, including Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album (Avalon United), Best Rock Song ("Fallen Kings"), and Best Rock Performance ("Fallen Kings"). They have also received Brit Awards and even the Mercury Prize.

And let's not forget the VMA show last year, where they won Best Rock Video, followed by matching honors at the EMAs.

Despite their relatively short career, this multi-platinum group has already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Needless to say, King's Legends has been one of the most successful bands of this century, so what could this significant loss mean for them?

Speculation has already been circulating. Some say this will be the death of the Legends, but others say the other four members have enough popularity in their own right they'll hold their own in the interim before they find their new leader. Yes, that's right folks. Arthur Pendragon, long time manager of the band, stated they were seeking a replacement and accepting demo videos worldwide. So, you heard it, people. This could be someone's opportunity of a lifetime to join an already highly successful band and maybe even take these guys to the next level. What that level would be no one knows, but we wouldn't put it past these men to create a whole new level, exceeding all our expectations.

Only time will tell of the future of King's Legends, but they don't have long. In three months time the group is looking to begin a world tour starting across the pond. Sir Gwaine Green, drummer, Sir Lancelot Dulac, keyboard , Sir Percival Armstrong, bass guitar, Sir Leon Bishop, lead guitar, and ?. Fill in the blank. Whoever it is has big shoes to fill. Sir Tristan not only sang but played the rhythm guitar and even danced with the show dancers. He definitely was an integral part of the band, so the King's Legends certainly has its work cut out for it. Whoever it is will hit the ground running in their careers with a world tour already scheduled and a new album set to debut next year. This could easily be someone's dream come true.
