Summary
Armand lets the moment of his reveal linger, remaining still as a statue, hoping the boy might try to run and give Armand more of a chase. Daniel doesn’t run, though. He just frowns, and pants, his breathing and his heartbeat going appropriately rabbit-fast. Armand worries for a moment that he’s been recognized, and that the boy’s memory of the week they spent together on Divisadero Street may be less erased than he thought.
“Are you Lestat?” Daniel asks, and eliminates that worry.
Armand laughs before he can think to contain it, a sharp sound that clearly frightens the boy, and nearly frightens Armand himself.

Dad is 71, early stage Parkinson’s disease, broke his hip 6 weeks ago. No signs of cognitive decline; mostly needs help with household tasks (cooking, light cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping), getting dressed, showering, changing cat litter/general cat care, getting to and from appointments.
Please know what you are getting into; Dad is physically more or less in good health but awful at accepting his limitations, unnecessarily mean, generally uncooperative, and largely nocturnal. Imagine yourself caring for a feral raccoon that is convinced it’s going to write another book, then subtract everything that is cute about raccoons.

Despite the agitation in him after he’d hung up the phone, Daniel still remembered his mother kindly. Armand supposed the anger was an easier way of dealing with the guilt at leaving her behind - there were simply parts of Daniel’s life that he couldn’t bring along with him when he was with Armand.
“I’ve been too busy to see her," Daniel said to him. "You of all people should know that, spiriting me away abroad every week and dragging me round all over the world. Didn’t factor in meeting my beloved’s mom into your eight-year-long euro-summer, huh?”
“You didn’t want me to meet her.”
“I didn’t want her to meet you.”

All needs up to that point will be met -surpassingly so, I must admit, as I can be rather doting. There will be no need to consider expenses as they will be covered entirely by myself-
"-There will be a rigorous interview process consisting of correspondence by email..." Daniel shook his head, laughing. "Of course, buddy. I'm sure I'll have a lot of competition." He raised his whiskey glass to his lips and wet them. "If this sounds like an amenable blah blah... Christ, this guy is verbose. I'll have to bring along a thesaurus to keep up."
Daniel Molloy was 24, not too muscular, and no more than 200lbs. He was also steadfast and enterprising -when he could keep his nose clean- and had nothing more interesting to do than chase a story about an independently wealthy man with the screen name Botticelli_Angel who seemed to have the world's most taboo kink. Daniel could play the part, see where the story took him for a while. If shit got too weird, he'd dip. (Spoiler: He doesn’t dip.)
