She tries not to look at his bare corded forearms, or the way his shirt, open at the neck, clings with sweat to his torso. She looks at his face, but that’s not better. His dark eyes bore holes in her without apology.
This man doesn’t want her here.
She sets her chin defiantly.

“Every year I give a ball,” Death had explained to him. “It’s called the Ball of the Full Moon, or the Ball of Love. As you understand, Dr. Solo, I have no husband – but there has to be a host.”
The title is from a poem by Virgil and translates as "love conquers all things.”
2021/13/07 NOTE: A few edits were made, including minor grammar, in order to clarify some aspects of the plot without changing it.

Two romances for the price of one: yes, please!!
Based on the following prompt from BensCalligraphySet:
Han & Leia are getting a divorce (they do this every ten years. It keeps things interesting.)
Rey, Han’s assistant and Ben, their son, pretend they don’t know each other even though they’ve been secretly dating for a year. https://t.co/XzTTnqXQq2— fran (@galacticidiots) October 15, 2020

Summary
Rey Palpatine and Benjamin Skywalker-Solo are news anchors on the most watched political morning tv show. They’re also the conservative and liberal perspectives of their generation. Their legendary screaming matches can’t be beat and everyone knows how much they hate each other.
“You know that's my chair!” Rey wailed. “What is the matter with you today? You can easily stand up and switch with me.”
Ben held up a finger, looking at himself in front of the mirror, unmoving while Kaydel dabbed his face with his favorite oil blotting sheets. “You snooze, you lose, Palpatine. You can sit next to me or behind me, but today, this is my chair.”
“Ben, this isn’t fair. You barely fit in that seat!”
Mitaka walked in, interrupting them. “Sir, John Oliver’s staff reached out to me. They want you on his show Last Week Tonight. Are you interested?”

Please note, this is political - but not. This has nothing to do with current US Politics, its an AU.

Summary
“Oh, and here is my Uncle Ben!” Emma says before swiftly turning the screen to his face.
Ben nearly chokes on his own tongue, but finally manages to blurt out, “Goodevnin.” Two things he now knows for sure:
1. Rey Niima is definitely not an elderly woman; quite the contrary, she looks just a bit younger than him.
2. Rey Niima is very, very beautiful.
Based on the prompt by wonderful @galacticidiots: Ben is babysitting his niece and she begs him to FaceTime Rey so she can read her a bedtime story. He’s never met her but as soon as the call connects, he’s completely transfixed. He doesn’t tell her when the kid falls asleep because he doesn’t want her to stop reading.
