Summary
Shane is left with a spinal cord injury after a catastrophic team event, and now he is left to rebuild a life that he didn’t sign up for.
Told through Shane’s therapy sessions and the memories he refused to face, the story follows grief, survivor’s guilt, rehab, and the slow realization that finding a way forward into his new reality may also mean finding a way back to Ilya—even when neither of them knows what that path is supposed to look like anymore.
This story is heavy, but it is also packed with tenderness, hope, and so much love. Enjoy!

This is so good. Paraplegic Shane trying to start living again a year after the accident. ❤️ How Shane and Ilya are powering through this is beautiful. The more I read, the more I'm falling in love with this story. Ilya loving Shane through everything!!

They’ll analyze the hit from every angle, trying to find just what went so wrong. It was clean, it was legal… and yet it somehow slammed Shane Hollander into the ice hard enough to end his career.
