Summary
Based (loosely) on a prompt from finnpoe-wizard on tumblr:
Finn is an ex-soldier on a solo motorcycle trip across America. Poe is the mechanic in a small desert town. Poe wants to keep his secrets and Finn is running from something--or toward it--and the part for his bike is going to take at least a week to come in.
What starts as a quick stop and awkward flirt devolves into a conspiratorial intrigue of a very personal nature. Lights in the desert, headaches and vague memories all point Finn to something that has Poe tied in knots. He just has no idea how far that something will take him.

Summary
In the First Order relationships and sexual encounters worked differently and a lot more subtle than those in the Resistance. Offering to polish someone's blaster had a clear meaning. So when Poe asked Finn to help him polish his blaster, the meaning seemed clear to the ex-trooper. Little did he know that Dameron was just really bad at keeping his ground weapons in shipshape.

“Poe, are you alright?” Finn asked nervously. “Do you need to, like, sit or something? Drink some water maybe?”
Poe’s hand was still on Finn’s shoulder, gripping it like a vice. Finn realized Poe needed to lean on him to stand. Poe’s eyes drifted back up to Finn. They were starting to attract stares from their coworkers.
“Fine. ‘m fine,” Poe mumbled. He started to lean forward, placing his other hand on Finn’s chest. Poe’s eyes fluttered closed, and he continued to bring himself closer to Finn. Finn’s heartbeat pounded in his ears as he realized Poe Dameron was trying to kiss him.
