Summary
The circus cannot survive without Caine. His existence is tied to its existence. Which means, whether they like it or not, the players will have to find a way to bring him back.
Thankfully, Kinger has a plan. He informs the players about a powerful AI Caine had consumed long ago, Model-58. If they can get Caine to agree to have this AI removed from him, they can split the AI's power amongst themselves. But problems arise as the plan is put into action.
Caine has been acting strange ever since he was brought back without his powers.
Jax has been oddly cheery and spending a lot of time alone.
Worst of all...the players have to learn to co-exist with Caine if they want the circus to stay standing. And it doesn't take long for tensions to rise when Caine is confronted for his past actions. But the players are soon confronted with their own past actions as they find out that they're not the only ones who have been traumatized in this digital hell.
Turns out this lover without a heart had his heart broken by his own creators.

OR: Caine is brought back, but with some new features. His abilities are limited, and if they so desire, the humans have a way to shut him up. His teeth have been replaced with a zipper. Some use this for amusement, others as revenge, some only as necessary. The path it leads down is full of mis-steps, but they'll keep stumbling along together.

Pomni has been in the circus for who knows how long. Time had a way of feeling unclear in this damned place, and everyone was clearly losing it. One night, she realizes she has an unexpected window to the reality she had thought was long gone. Now, she's left with the harsh reality, there's more to this circus than just an AI ringmaster and some wacky adventures.Jax is completely done with everyone in this circus, I mean, why would he care? They are all in a video game! This was his mindset, until he realizes that things are getting to real for him to turn a blind eye too... and something might keep him from trying to ignore the obvious gaps in code the circus is starting to develop.

AU where Jax and Pomni find a way to escape the circus, but C&A won't let them leave so easily. Think Hawkins labs from Season one of stranger things :P

As Pomni spends more time in the circus, her bonds with the others grow stronger. Everyone longs for connection, one way or another. But one thing that has not changed is Pomni's strong dislike for being touched. She won't ever voice it out loud, but everyone has known her long enough now to know it's definitely not at the top of her most-enjoyed things. Yet, Jax will still push it. Why? Because he himself hates touch as much as getting close enough to where people can see him for who he truly is. And it f[%$!#]s with him so badly to the point he's starting to doubt everything around him. A panic attack here and there isn't abnormal from him, in the privacy of his own room, of course. But, now they're occurring every night, and almost right in front of everyone. Jax has never felt this close to insanity, and it's scary to think that one more will be enough to push him to a place he cannot return.
