Maybe they have a sad beginning, maybe they had a sad ending, maybe they had a sad middle point, or maybe it just has the one scene that made the reader cry.
Either way, these are sad, but also amazing, wonderful things.

Did I accidentally possess someone again? he thought, looking down at himself, and frowned. It was him, down to his body and clothes. Except, he then belatedly realised: it was pink, everything, his shirt, jeans, sandals—even his skin was a light pink, more subtle in its opalescence.
“Why do I look like this?”
“It appears your form is mimicking the orga—“
“Why am I pink?”
“Oh.” Finally, the Peridot resumed her work, once more typing something on her screen. “Despite being awake, the subject still appears to be confused."[In which I wrote my own version of the trial]
