“Oh, I will.” Leo starts ticking off a list on his fingers. “Most of the team is white, which, boo. All the players are probably straight boys who’d call me slurs-" he dodges Piper's glare "-and they’re all the types to spend the rest of their lives reminding everyone they played college football because this is their peak."
Piper finally manages to grab his arm, then tips her head meaningfully up.
He turns around warily, ready to roll his eyes. “What’s up with you–”
And there, sitting one row up, is the quarterback.

Summary
The one grateful thought that he threw to the sky was that he was not surrounded by trees. Truly, Harry was used to waking up in enchanted and lonesome forests and while he could surely survive in one again, the wide-open, grassy plain was a sight for sore eyes.
The untamed magic and general feel of a land unknown to him were far outweighing any relief he could find, however.
Because of course Harry Potter, the boy who had never stuck between the lines of “physics” and “magic,” would again defy the rules and end up very, very far from Hogwarts – the place where he should have been at the moment. Appearing in a world with nothing but the clothes on his back and the wand in his holster for protection was very unfortunate indeed, and it was only the mind-numbing shock Harry was in at the current moment that saved the grass in a small radius from him from an explosive destruction.
“What,” he said, “is this.”
OR.
The one where Harry finds himself in Middle-Earth and goes with Bilbo on his quest, making attachments and saving a few lives along the way. But don't be fooled: Fawkes is the real hero of this story. This is basically an "EVERYTHING IS BETTER WITH FAWKES" story. I'm a big fan of his.- Language:

“Yes,” Ilya interrupted. He didn’t want to know how long Hollander’s list was. “I know.”
Hollander took a deep breath. “Okay, listen,” he said. “Just so we’re clear - we don’t know each other outside of playing against each other, right?”
“Right.”
“And we can’t- can’t hook up anymore.”

Closer than he probably should.
A year after mysteriously dropping out of the 2009 draft, Shane Hollander is signed by the Boston Raiders, right behind Ilya Rozanov. Having the two biggest stars in the league on the same line is great for Boston — but playing alongside their worst rival was never exactly in Shane or Ilya's plans. Harry felt something touch both sides of his head, gripping it tight enough to be uncomfortable, but not so tight as to hurt — or perhaps he was so used to pain that it didn't register. This time, he did try to scream, but the sound came out muffled, eaten by the darkness as soon as it emerged. The thing around his head grew warmer. When it was hot enough that he thought it would leave his skin red and raw, the first images started flashing in his mind.
They appeared faster and faster, one image after another, flickering in front of his eyes. When the last of the images faded from sight, the darkness was back to being just that — dark. The feeling of not being alone was gone, as was the heat around his head. All Harry was left with were the memories of a life he hadn't yet lived, and the sneaking suspicion that things would never be the same.
