He’s not sure which scenario would be worse: that you’d grin and bear it when he touches you in public because you pity him, or, god, that you’d shrug him off out in the open because you’re disgusted by him.

Shane was so happy to be with Aaron. The man had swept him off his feet and saved his life. He stopped his suicide attempt and fixed him. He finally moved out of Aunt Marnie's rented room and moved in with the man he wanted to spend his life with.
Though, now his thoughts were different. Adorned with bruises and his cheeks stained with tears, Shane wishes he had destroyed the mermaids pendant the second it was offered to him.
