He hesitated, hesitated but nonetheless replied, “I got blasted by cuddle pollen. It’s why I tripped. It’s why I got caught.”
The line went dead silent.
Tim clenched his fists as the pale figure uncovered his face. “I’m sorry.”
The line split off into a cacophony of sounds. But Tim couldn’t hear any of it, because the stone and crumbles of cement and wood slipped off the purple suit and the pale man sat up, a hand going to his sickeningly green hair.
He was trapped. Trapped within a building’s remains with a conscious Joker, dipped head-to-toe in cuddle pollen which was already starting to become close to unbearable without human touch.
OR
A cuddle-pollened Tim gets stuck in a collapsed building with the Joker.

Summary
Tim Drake was someone that knew a lot of people, both in his civilian identity and when wearing his mask. He was someone that knew a lot of people, but not someone that people truly knew. Sure, there were people in his life that knew bits and pieces of himself, but no one knew everything and very few knew the same things if he could help it.
He was a puzzle that only himself held the answer key to.

Summary
Tim spares himself just a moment of grief, for all the people who aren’t going to live through the coming fight, for maybe the whole city. A dragon that large is powerful enough to drop Wayne Tower and the entire block surrounding in about a minute, to level all of Gotham in hours. There are going to be casualties, and all he can do is pray to things he isn’t sure he believes in that his family won’t be among them.
He shoves those feelings down, though, as quickly as he can. He lifts a hand to his ear, voice urgent as he bolts towards the Batburger. “Oracle, issue a city-wide evac order now! Everyone else, do not engage!”
“Is that a fucking dragon?!”

All he can see of Jason now is a hunched-up blob. “I’m - I can’t see,” he chokes out, and there’s none of the viciousness that was there moments earlier. “I can’t - it’s too dark, I don’t, - please let me out.”
His voice cracks.
“You are out,” Tim says, trying to make his tone soothing even as his heart clenches at the sheer fear in the older boy’s voice. “I - I don’t know what you’re seeing, but you’re outside, you’re on a roof, we’re not far from the docks. We got hit with something, do you remember that?”
The blob twitches. It might be a nod.
“Okay good,” he says, letting out a breath. “It’s, um. I don’t know what it was, but I think it’s affecting our nervous systems. I can’t - I don’t know about you, but I can’t move super well? And I think it’s messing with our ocular nerves. Your - your eyes are fine.”

Summary
Bruce is a mess when Tim first shows up. He's ruthless and relentless. Certainly not the Batman that Tim knows. So, Tim decides to step in. He'll become Robin. He won't replace Jason. That's something he knows he'll never be able to do. But he'll fulfill the need for a Robin.
Tim knows he's nothing more than a placeholder. Still, he wishes that Batman would accept him. He wishes Bruce would accept him. He can dream. He does dream. But he always wakes up. And he wakes up to a Batman that wants his son back.
Or: Tim fulfills the need for a Robin and takes the brunt of Batman at his worse. Later down the line, Bruce wonders if he'll ever be able to fix the damage he's done to Timothy Drake.
