Summary
Bruno Bucciarati always wanted to be a parent, he saw just how much his father cherished being a parent and wanted that for himself, but when the vampire is excommunicated from everything around him and residing himself to living alone in the forest; he assumes those hopes are dashed.
Leone Abbacchio was rather indifferent about the aspect of children, he was fine with them and just as equally fine without them, but when sentenced to death and escaping the town he grew up in; he didn't have any reason to think about the prospect further when survival was the only thing on his mind.
Though when the two meet; it gives Bruno what he wants, and makes a choice for Leone on the matter.
