“I don’t fucking know, man,” Frank replies, dodging one of Ray’s flailing hands. “Call an ambulance?”

The dog really was huge, unnaturally tall and with a big head. The coat was a brownish black, the eyes reflected what little light reached them. It was crouching, ears flat against the head and back arched. Gerard shivered. The dog growled lowly, then snarled and showed its teeth.
Gerard froze. “Frank, I mean it. Please. It’s afraid. Don’t get hurt,” he whispered desperately. -
