(He was always so bruised as a kid. Always on his knees and his elbows, once on his forehead and another time all big and purple like a rain puddle splashed across his round, baby tummy.
He was a crab apple fallen into dewy grass during spring, soggy and wrinkled with holes in places.
Katsuki put the holes there. He remembers.)

Summary

The bruises aren’t normal. Nothing is normal. How long was he held under, flailing for oxygen, flopping desperate as a fish? Katsuki pictures, unwillingly, bright cherry red skin, eyes bulging, mouth gaping and skin purpling, fingernails trying and failing to be claws. Was his quirk somehow deactivated?
He turns, meets Katsuki’s gaze so briefly (his right eye is spotted with red at the corner, Katsuki didn’t notice before, blood like a splash of diluted paint bursting across off-white), gestures to the front of the room with his thumb and then looks away again.
Stop staring at me, already, will you?

A couple people know what happened, but I cant tell anyone else and it’s messing with me and my grades and my sleep and stuff. I just want to get rid of the memory of what happened.
