It happens when the sun begins to set, ending their last day together, clouds glowing gold against the pink sky like hazel eyes and tear-stained cheeks, fading light illuminating two pairs of wings, two bodies folded together, and countless tears.

He tried to convince himself it was jealousy, profiling gaze picking up how Luke seemed to get more exhausted as their relationship grew, pulling away from the team, his shoulders tensing whenever they mentioned her. But the change in his demeanor now, besides the fake-bubbly blonde, compared to at work, as subdued as he seems, is undeniable.
