Maya is getting better at not running away. But what happens when she does get scared and she runs anyway?
I suck at summaries, I was listening to ‘Anyways, I love you’ by Wild Rivers and this was the result.

Summary
Maya Bishop is running—both literally and figuratively. Trapped in a cycle of self-doubt, exhaustion, and relentless inner turmoil, she pushes herself to the brink in an attempt to outrun her pain. But the voices in her head grow louder, the darkness heavier, and the clouds more tempting. Can she find her way back to Carina, her lighthouse in the storm, or will the pull of silence be too strong to resist?

Summary
The music soared again, the words spilling into the night like a vow: This will be an everlasting love.
And so they danced, surrounded by their friends, their love a beacon that lit up the room. Every kiss, every laugh, every moment—they were carving it into memory, an eternal reminder that this was only the beginning of their happily ever after.

Summary
It is hectic. Chaotic, even.
The West Seattle Bridge has collapsed, and Maya has lost count of how many stations have responded. It has to be at least a three-alarm fire, but the devastation sprawls so far, so deep, that a fourth wouldn’t surprise her. Fires rage in pockets, licking at the wreckage. Cars are crushed, overturned, submerged. Some barely cling to the edge, teetering between steel and water.
Red and blue lights paint the twisted remains, sirens wailing, voices shouting. The air is thick with smoke and the acrid scent of burning fuel. Station 5 is in the water with their boat, pulling out whoever they can, but too many lifeless bodies have already been brought to shore. Too many empty, unblinking eyes stare back at her, and Maya knows, knows, that the count will only grow.

Summary
The kitchen is clean, the scent of extinguished flames replaced by the warmth of takeout and something sweet. They had eaten dinner curled up on the couch, and now dessert has followed them to bed—ice cream melting lazily in its bowl, forgotten between kisses and laughter.
Carina is full, happy, relaxed in a way that only happens when she is here, wrapped in Maya’s arms.
Because Maya is always within reach.

Carina looks up, and their eyes meet.
No words are spoken. They don’t need them.

Summary
The girl is stunning. Carina doesn’t recognize her, but all she knows is that something about her tugs at her, a quiet pull, a need to know the girl.
“Hi, I would–I’d like a ticket, for the uh, for the movie tonight?” The girl’s voice is small, her question almost hesitant, as if she expects to be denied. But Carina doesn’t hesitate to take the opportunity.
“Why don’t you go with me?” she asks, a smile curling her lips.

Summary
Carina’s brow furrows slightly. She has been coming up more and more lately. It’s not that she’s not excited herself. But Maya is so excited, distracted even, and Carina isn’t sure how she feels about it. She knows she should be happy her wife is so excited. She loves how devoted Maya is, how she throws herself into things–but still, every conversation seems to turn into a conversation about her. And she can’t help but feel like something is slipping between her fingers.
Eventually Maya slips out of bed, murmuring about checking on something for the guest room. Carina lets out a sigh before dropping her head back onto the pillow, a soft pout forming on her lips. Their moment is over–stolen by her again, and she’s not even here yet.

Summary
Yes, Maya wanted to get married. Especially to Carina. But if it had come down to it—if Carina had told her, "I can’t, I just can’t do marriage," Maya would’ve nodded, swallowed the lump in her throat, and stayed.
Because she wanted Carina more than the ceremony. More than the rings or the paper or the names.
But Carina gave her that anyway. Because it mattered to Maya. Because she mattered.
--
Her wife. The word feels strange and right all at once.
She didn’t do this for the paperwork. Not really. She did it because Maya is hers. Because nothing—not distance, not fear, not time zones—could keep them apart. Because every time she gets to call Maya "my wife," her heart skips a beat.
