PREVIEW:
And so Éothain stewed and tossed in his narrow bed, trying not to listen to Heruwine’s voice speak of his favorite things: love, hunting and war, and racing on horseback across the plains.Éothain had no friends here, and so nobody to talk to. Summary
For the life of him, royal secretary Éothain cannot understand why people lose their minds in the presence of the two young princes. Then, he meets someone else who sees children in a unique light.
PREVIEW:
With the arrival of the princes, who struck Éothain as no more different than two linen-wrapped eggs, the rest of the palace plunged into a predictable madness. Courtiers and commanders abandoned their dignities in a ritual of face-making and ululating praise. Ladies of every age discussed nothing else, and were full of observations plucked from the torpid summer air.In no way could Éothain agree that Elfbrand had “eyes like luscious meadows,” and that Elfwine looked more like Lothíriel, when in fact both boys looked like hairless rabbits.
