He could practically hear the dreams fading from his mind; could perfectly imagine the older man fumbling around to sit up, confused as to why Jason was calling so late.
Still, he didn’t say anything.
“…Jason?” Percy’s voice was more panicked now, alert. Jason almost felt bad for calling.
Almost.
His breathing was shallow now, eyes drooping, yet he managed to croak out two words.
“I’m sorry.”

Summary
Mikey was still flipping ahead, now frequently touching down on the ground for a few seconds before jumping back into the trees. He was about ten metres in front of Leo. The ground, which at this point was covered entirely in loose leaves and dirt.
Donnie was seriously starting to get a bad feeling.
“Hey guys?” he called, jumping to another branch with practiced ease. “Maybe we should stop, I think we’re—“
Before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by the sound of heavy metal clamping down on flesh, an animalistic scream echoing through the trees.
Everyone stopped.

He wanted to scream.
Maybe that was reflected on his face a little too well because Raph spoke up then; worried, his voice soft. Something that almost never happened. Not with Donnie. “You okay, Dee?”
He turned his gaze to him, rustic eyes blazing with anger, humiliation, pain. “What do you think, Raph? I’m—I’m fucking—“
He laughed then, turning his body fully away from the mirror, head dropping into his hands. “I look worse than when Mikey had shellacne!”
And that was putting it mildly.

"We need to go." He snapped. "Back to the surface. I think the ships cracking under the pressure."
Jason felt the colour drain from his face, his heart dropping to his feet, stomach doing somersaults like it was trying out to be an Olympic athlete. Another harrowing scrape filled the air, like the ship was taunting them. He could hear a hissing now—almost a whistle—similar to a tea kettle on steroids. The kind of thing you hear in movies before the engine explodes.
"Are you sure?" Percy asked, already moving to pull them up. "We're not—we're 200 feet deep, Leo, you said this was safe for you guys!"
Leo looked almost offended. "It was supposed to be! I thought the celestial bronze would hold up, it was fine at 130 PSI when I did my tests, I don't understand—"
The ship shook, a deafening boom echoing around them. Jason didn't even have time to blink before everything went to shit.

“Wow,” Percy said softly. “I look—I look like me.”
Jason laughed from somewhere behind him, cleaning off the scissors and comb, putting them away. He didn’t say anything though. Percy wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not.
He stepped back again, but suddenly his hair didn’t look as good as it did before. Not because it looked bad—but because Percy didn’t know if he was still himself. Did the hairstyle still suit him? The Percy he was now? Should he have kept it long?
Jason must’ve seen his expression, the blond’s face morphing from a tranquil peace into a half scared worry. “You alright? If theres something you don’t like, I can fix it—“
“I don’t feel like me anymore.”

He wiggled his hands and legs. They responded, but their movements were sluggish, slow. They must’ve injected him with something to stop him from escaping—likely the same thing as his brothers—but the real question was what.
Unfortunately, time ticked by slowly. No one came in. Leo didn’t wake up. Raph and Mikey didn’t become any more coherent—but Donnie knew something was off.
It started with his breathing. At first, he thought it was the pressure from being strung up, but it couldn’t be. His lungs seemed to spasm, tightening with every inhale until his breathing was just as slow as his brother’s.
Donnie felt his heart drop to his stomach, forcing himself to look at Raph again. He tried to focus, analyzing the turtle, and it confirmed his new assumption. His older brother was barely breathing, his forehead covered in sweat—despite the fact that turtles didn’t sweat. Even with the dim lights in the cell, he was able to make out a slight yellow undertone in his skin.
Was he—were they infected by something?
