Summary
The stock character of William Men has unfortunately fallen to irrelevancy in recent years. However, what cannot be denied is the fact that the character's history is intertwined with the history of Averfell.
Samuel Flyte was one of many soldiers there for major battles between the Iron Order and the Kingdom of Averfell, a mercenary who fought in the desperate defense in the Second Siege of Westhold Keep, the only remaining castle and major recruitment centre for much of Averfell's standing army between the Order and the capital of the Kingdom of Averfell.Thankfully, Flyte kept journals. A small selection of entries, mostly relating to Averfell and the Order, have been recovered, translated, and compiled.
I have chosen to give this work the 'original work' tag along with the host fandom as it follows more OCs than characters from the original text, and reimagines several aspects of the setting. If that is not what I should be doing tagging-wise, could anyone please point this out? Thank you!
Criticism is welcome but not demanded. I am welcome to answer any questions anyone might have in the comments.Series

Summary
For your own sake, From the Journals is mandatory reading, and if you really don't want to read that, play the original game's full campaign on ROBLOX; none of what is mentioned in this fic will make sense otherwise.
Several engraved clay tablets in Old Averfellian were found in an abandoned wheat field in the Champs de Blé administrative region of Averfell (a historical battlefield in the 1327 First Averfell-Antauria War as well as the 1450 Third Averfell-Antauria War, historically referred to as 'Crestwood' in Antaurian documents), during and after the 2020 Avovirus crisis. Despite mentioning events related to the 1450 Third War, and the formatting of some tablets seeming as though they were coming from almost half a millennium after the the period, these tablets were carbon-dated to as far back as 22AD.
A selection of these clay tablets, despite preceding the earliest recorded stageplay scripts in the history of all world cultures, somehow managed to almost perfectly mimick the contemporary Antaurian screenplay, standardised for Antaurian cinema since the 1930s and by the entire world since early 1950. Others were signed off by a supposed author writing in 1972, who did not exist.
