If Niall was going to die tonight, he’d like to go in the arms of his brother. He didn’t know that earlier, when Ruben’s hands wrapped around his neck and squeezed like he were just wringing out a dirty dish rag. Is that all Niall is to him anymore? Surely he deserves that–deserves this now. He did sleep with his wife, after all.
It’s all Niall can do to never blink, always looking down to dodge rusted metal traps designed to take down an animal bigger and stronger than himself, an animal surely weaker than the man currently chasing him, he thinks. At least if a bear were running after him, he’d have a better chance of escaping due to a natural fear of anything loud and unfamiliar that’s instilled in bears–or most animals, at that.
An ugly gasp claws its way out of Niall’s throat, “O-Oh.” Maybe caught isn’t strong enough of a word to explain Niall’s predicament. No, not for the iron teeth that bite down into his thigh, scraping through the other side to get a full clamp of his aching flesh.

“Will you tell me what happened in your nightmare?” Naim smiles as Ryan’s eyes widen. “I figure this is about that, right? You haven’t talked about it, even though you… you know.” Naim looks down at his boyfriend’s chest, eyeing the large burn that had bubbled up. Ryan hadn’t told him exactly what happened yet, but Naim found him in the bathroom two nights ago nursing a new burn on both his chest and the palm of his hand, and Ryan’s refused to cuddle near the fireplace ever since.
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea, love. It was… dark.” Ryan swallows uncomfortably.
