Summary
The human world is very different to what anyone expected. Things don't happen very quickly. Negotiations need to be made, homes need to be built, laws need to be put in place, and people need to learn to forgive. People on both sides.
Things go a little differently than in the game, and all the changes start with Frisk having a bit of common sense when Papyrus goes off to terrorise some humans.
A queen is met, old friends are reunited, and we learn that Frisk had a life before the Underground. Clothes are bought, and nightmares are... Nightmared. The skelebros learn to stop lying to themselves and each other, Frisk becomes a bit of a counsellor, and Toriel makes them all pie. Oh, and some shipping is done. By the characters. Sans and Toriel ship it.
Or my first published fanfic. Not beta read, not even really planned out. Sorry if there are continuity errors. There probably will be. Pls correct me. Also, it started out as a reader-insert which I changed half way through the first chapter to first person. So... If you see any "you"s that don't look like they should be there, help. I've tried to get them all, but I still might have missed a few. Or a lot. Enjoy?

You haven't been about in the real world for months, and it feels like you are missing out on a lot. Monsters have come to the surface, and on top of that, your best friend is friends with some really important ones. Even more than that, is that you have to be under constant supervision.
You know nothing of what is going on, but the fear is creeping up on you. And what happened with her and that skeleton anyways, they seemed really close till you showed up.
Slow burn(ish) story about a girl trying to rebuild herself, and grows into what she could be. She has help, and those bastards don't seem to catch on to the way she's being impeded by someone else. Basically: don't trust a bitch who doesn't love you.

Her father didn't want her to leave, as he feared that his daughter would disappear as well. After a discussion, he reluctantly let her go to search for her brother.
After falling down a hole within a cave, (Y/n) is introduced to the Underground, the land where Monsters had been sealed away for many years.
Despite finding her brother, life decides to have other plans and bring forth a threatening creature that promises the death of all monsters and the one possessing the Soul of Determination, not caring who they have to kill in order to achieve their goal.
Let's see how things play out, shall we?
