Summary
Papyrus and Frisk are making ravioli together and Papyrus's mind drifts back to something his dad told him his mother always said; that love and cooking were very similar. Papyrus believed this, but it took him a long time to understand how either truly worked.
In the Underground, he thought both were supposed to be an inferno.
But on the surface, after a lot of cooking lessons from Toriel and four years of friendship with Frisk, he realizes that both cooking and love are better on a slow burn. And he was in love with Frisk Dreemurr.

Toriel frowned in concern as she saw her daughter hunched over law books. Frisk had been doing this all day even though it was Sunday, as well as studying the law books every spare minute she didn't have school or homework for the past several days. She kept telling Toriel she had to get this down before the press conference that Saturday. And it was especially bad today. She had been only taking breaks to go use the restroom and had barely eaten, even when Toriel had put her favorite butterscotch cinnamon pie in front of her. Even Asgore couldn't get through to her.
But Toriel knew who could.
This sounds like a job for the Great Papyrus!

Summary
This story depicts the struggles of the monsters after moving to the surface. The coldness they were met with and the problems they have to deal with after encountering humans. Mostly Sans and Frisk centered, it follows the evolution of Frisk growing up as an ambassador, and Sans' feelings and comfort around humans. Just like in today's society, we are having a hard time accepting anyone that does not look or think like us, we tend to isolate them, make them an enemy, judging on looks, race, ethnicity etc., in this case, the monsters became the race that almost everyone decided to label as enemies.
